Recently, the experts at Krillan led a class for two groups of excited members from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program of Central Minnesota. The “Make a Shirt” event was designed for adult volunteers (“Bigs”) to spend time with the children (“Littles”) they are matched up with. The matches are paired by coordinators through Big Brothers Big Sisters, which is a nation-wide organization that makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and children ages 5 through 14, in an effort to “provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally-supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.”
Each match was able to create two shirts to bring home and proudly wear. The first class made one shirt using our two methods of screen printing technology: water-based and plastisol. The second group of matches made one shirt using plastisol screen printing and another heat pressing a foil transfer. Bigs and Littles in both classes had a great time creating their custom apparel and spending time with their matches doing something new and exciting.
Earlier this year, Krillan opened its studio doors to another group of Bigs and Littles for a similar experience. You can read more about that encounter here.
If you would like to schedule a unique event or outing for your group, feel free to contact us here at Krillan. We love to open our doors up to the community and share our knowledge to create an experience that will inspire people to be creative, resourceful, and wear awesome custom apparel.
