The Tri-County Humane Society (TCHS) located in St. Cloud, Minnesota recently wrapped up a very successful t-shirt fundraiser using Krillan’s online storefront. The organization was able to raise over $1,000 to support their cause, with very little effort!
The Tri-County Humane Society operates an independent non-profit animal shelter and has been providing quality services to the people and animals of Central Minnesota since 1974. Services include care for over 3500 homeless animals annually, pet adoption, pet lost and found, and humane education. The organization also provides knowledgeable answers to questions regarding pet care, behavior, and many other animal related issues.
One of the things that helped the TCHS fundraiser be so successful was promoting it. The TCHS was very resourceful and they “promoted the fundraiser through in-house marketing with flyers that were posted on all of the bulletin boards in the shelter and included in adoption bags,” according to Marit Ortega, Manager of Fund Development for the TCHS. She continued to say, “In the community, we handed out flyers to participants at our Companion Walk and Santa Paws fundraising events and each of our off-site adoption events.” The TCHS also posted a link to their storefront on the homepage of their website, used Facebook, sent mass emails, and used word-of-mouth to spread the word about the shirts being sold for their fundraiser.
The TCHS didn’t need to spend money to promote their fundraiser, and they were still able get the word out to many people about their cause. “As for printing costs, we printed the flyers on white paper in black ink in-house to keep costs down, and then had volunteers help with cutting the flyers and inserting them in adoption bags. Aside from the paper, there really weren’t any expenses,” explained Ortega. There are a lot of ways to successfully promote a t-shirt fundraiser without having to spend a lot of money to do it.
The shirts were designed by the experts at Krillan. The design was eye-catching and featured the Tri-County Humane Society’s logo. “Krillan designed the shirts for us with just a few suggestions of what we were looking for,” Ortega said. Using a single color for the print was another way to save money for the TCHS. They were able to provide variety by offering both t-shirts and sweatshirts, as well as a variety of shirt colors, in order to appeal to more supporters.
When it came to setting up and organizing their fundraiser, Ortega raved about the convenience and ease of Krillan’s online storefront. “We didn’t have to do anything!!! ‘Easy’ is an understatement!” she exclaimed. To make things even easier for the TCHS, Krillan was able to provide the option of either shipping items to the TCHS for pickup or directly to the customers. Online shoppers received an email notifying them when their order was ready to be picked up at the TCHS or tracking information once their apparel was shipped.

If you’re still unsure, don’t take our word for it; take the word of somebody who has valuable first-hand experience:
Krillan was absolutely incredible to work with. They responded within hours to every email, they joined our Facebook event and responded to questions before we even had a chance to read them, and they were professional and helpful through the entire process. We would highly recommend them to anyone!”
