Remember reading the blog post about the awesome heat press technology that Krillan uses to make really cool looking shirts? (If you haven’t been a loyal blog follower since Day 1 or in case you want to brush up, you can read the blog post here). Anyway, that fancy heat press vinyl technology isn’t just limited to shirts…it’s also a great option for hats (and other products as well).
When it comes to heat transferring onto hats, however, there are a few challenges that arise. The biggest problem is that the vinyl is applied to a rounded surface (a hat) with a flat surface (the heat press machine). For heat press vinyl to work properly on hats, it needs the correct heat, correct pressure, and the correct amount of dwell time of the heat and pressure. However, this is no reason for you to worry – the experts at Krillan have gone through extensive training and have valuable experience to ensure that your hats will look awesome.
Another difference when heat transferring vinyl onto hats deals with the logo or design that is used. Hats have a generally small area to work with, meaning the design used needs to be simple and clean. A good test is to hold the actual-sized design around 10 feet away and make sure it’s readable. If you’re wondering if your design will work, contact the experts at Krillan and they’ll be more than happy to help you out.
Recently, Krillan created some awesome hats for the Leech Lake Regatta based in Walker, Minnesota. How could you use a spiffy-looking heat pressed hat to promote your company, group, or team? What would it look like? Comment below and let us know!
